Cardiff City’s Josh Murphy has been linked with Burnley and Crystal Palace.

Cardiff City winger Josh Murphy says he hasn’t let Premier League speculation get to him as he sets his sights on staying in Wales amid reported interest from Burnley and Crystal Palace, Goal report.

” I don’t know if there’s any truth in it, but I took no notice of it. You never know what the future holds but as of now I am a Cardiff player and I am gearing up to get ready to fight for promotion to the Premier League,” Murphy explained.

“I have only been here for a season and I love it here. That’s my priority – to be at Cardiff and get Cardiff back to the Premier League.”

The report by Goal cites Burnley and Crystal Palace as suitors, while The Sun claimed back in May how the duo would target an £11 million move for Murphy should Cardiff suffer relegation to the Championship.

The Bluebirds ultimately succumbed to the drop last season. Neil Warnock’s men put up a good fight in their bid for Premier League survival, but they joined Fulham and Huddersfield Town in relegation.

Murphy was one of Cardiff’s better players last season. He only joined the club from Norwich City 12 months ago and featured 29 times in the top-flight – contributing with three goals and two assists.

Palace could be on the lookout for a new wide player if Wilfried Zaha leaves Selhurst Park this summer. Burnley, meanwhile, often dip into the Championship to sign the league’s most talented players.

Cardiff will be desperate to keep hold of Murphy, 24, as they attempt an immediate return to the top-flight, and judging by his comments he seems intent on helping the Bluebirds try and achieve that feat.
