Newcastle could benefit from Sunderland selling Josh Maja to Bordeaux.

Josh Maja is set to leave Sunderland to sign with Bordeaux, BBC Sport report.
The striker’s departure was inevitable and allows both club and player to move forward.
One side who could be in line to benefit are Sunderland’s rivals Newcastle United.
Newcastle have been eyeing a move for Bordeaux’s top scorer Francois Kamano, with The Chronicle reporting earlier this month that Rafa Benitez is keen on the forward.
Kamano has scored eight goals in 19 games in Ligue 1 this season. Only seven players in the division have scored more.

Buying players in January is always difficult. It becomes easier when the target’s club has signed a replacement.
Newcastle are yet to make their move this transfer window and it is unclear if any money is available.
If there is money to spend, Maja’s move to Bordeaux may make the French side more willing to cash in on Kamano should they be presented with the right offer.
