Brighton have released Josh Kerr two years after he quit Celtic.

Kerr is one of seven players who has been released, the Brighton and Hove Independent reported.

It is the conclusion of an underwhelming stint at the English Premier League club for Kerr.

Kerr quit Celtic in 2017 to try his luck with Brighton.

He had not yet featured for Celtic’s first team, playing with their development squad instead.

Kerr sent a message on Twitter two years ago admitting it was a ‘tough decision’ to leave Celtic.

Kerr has spent the past few months on loan at Irish side Derry City.

This has given him a chance to play competitive first team football, which will help him as he looks to try and find a new club over the coming weeks.
