Josh Hokit has set the record straight, saying he and Gable Steveson aren’t actually teammates despite what’s been reported.

Even though his speech at the White House raised a few eyebrows, Hokit has quickly become one of the more talked-about names in the heavyweight division since his debut last November.

The UFC’s newest big name could soon be joined by another, with Gable Steveson preparing to make his first appearance at UFC 329 next month. The two are being built up as future stars of the division.

A fight between them would draw plenty of attention, but there’s a growing feeling that it may never materialise.

Hokit makes it clear that he and Steveson are not teammates

Rumours about their connection started after Daniel Cormier suggested during one of Hokit’s fights that they’d crossed paths before in wrestling circles.

But according to Hokit, any suggestions that they’re close or even working together are way off. He spoke up during a recent appearance on The MMA Hour to clear things up:

“Rashad… what are we even talking about buddy… I never said this lol,” he wrote on X, in response to a clip from the show. “We aren’t teammates & he doesn’t even train in Albuquerque at JacksonWink… so nice try lol.”
