Leeds United have reportedly expressed an interest in Bristol City’s Josh Brownhill.
After a quite dramatic and emotionally charged season, things are beginning to settle for Leeds United and the focus is beginning to shift to producing the goods for the following campaign.
Marcelo Bielsa will need fresh legs and more depth to his squad if he’s to end Leeds’ barren spell outside of the Premier League and it seems as though the club are looking to make their mark.
As reported by Sky Sports News (Friday 7 June, 09:56), Leeds are among a number of clubs keen on Bristol City midfielder Josh Brownhill.
If the Yorkshire club can strike a deal for the 23-year-old forward-thinking midfielder then Bielsa would have yet another talented player on his books for next season.
During the previous campaign, Elland Road academy product Kalvin Phillips thrived in a defensive-minded midfield role and both he and Brownhill would form a deadly midfield partnership if the club can bring them both together.
Bristol City’s Brownhill would add more balance to Bielsa’s midfield if he signs. He does have the capabilities of being versatile from being a defensive-minded player to a more attack-minded player.
But under Bielsa at Leeds, and with Phillips next to him in the middle of the park, he could bring out those box-to-box qualities he possesses in his locker.
Either way, whether Brownhill is a Leeds player next season or not, the recent transfer talk surrounding the Yorkshire club is a real positive one for all associated.
