Tottenham Hotspur fans believe that Tanguy Ndombele has completely won over Jose Mourinho now.
When Mourinho first took over at Spurs there were fears for Ndombele, as the Frenchman seemed to slip down the pecking order.
Mourinho was quick to publicly criticise Ndombele and often overlooked him last term.
However, since the start of the new campaign, Ndombele has been used regularly and his performance last night was exceptional.
Tottenham beat Chelsea on penalties, with Ndombele standing out as one of Spurs’s better players.
Mourinho gave Ndombele a huge embrace at full-time, as Tottenham went through on penalties.
And Spurs fans have praised the Portuguese boss for helping Ndombele improve massively.
Ndombele may well now be considered to be part of Tottenham’s very strongest line-up.
It seems likely that he will be rested for Spurs’s game on Thursday evening in the Europa League against Maccabi Haifa, but the 23-year-old may well come back into Spurs’s team at the weekend, when they take on Manchester United.
