Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after some six-second footage from training emerged, in which something interesting can be heard.
The clip merely shows Tottenham’s goalkeepers warming up. However, in the background, Jose Mourinho can be heard talking to someone.
The ex-Chelsea boss can be heard saying: “You want to stay here or go to Madrid and play no football?”
Now, the Portuguese coach could be talking to a number of players.
Mourinho could be talking to Sergio Reguilon. Why?
Well, while Spurs outright purchased the left-back in a £27 million deal from Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane’s side do hold a buyback clause.
Perhaps Mourinho was offering the Spaniard an ultimatum, in the hope that, even if Real Madrid came in for him, he would reject their advances.
However, the Spurs boss could also be talking to Gareth Bale.
The Wales international will be returning to Real Madrid once his season-long loan deal ends.
Perhaps Mourinho was genuinely asking him if he’d like to make that deal permanent, or go back to Spain and be left out by Zidane again.
Sadly, there is a lot of speculation given the ambiguity of the situation – we wish the footage continued just that bit longer, so we could hear an answer.
