Sheffield Wednesday let go of Jose Semedo last summer, but he has kept tabs on their recent results.

SHREWSBURY, ENGLAND - January 30: Jose Semedo of Sheffield Wednesday during The Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round tie at New Meadow on January 30, 2016 in Shrewsbury, England.

Jose Semedo has expressed his delight that Sheffield Wednesday are finishing the season strongly on social media website Twitter.

Semedo left Wednesday to move to Vitoria in his native Portugal last summer, but he has kept his eye on the Owls’ results.

In the main, Semedo won’t have been too pleased with the way this season has gone for Wednesday.

However, Jos Luhukay’s side have been in solid form of late – winning five of their last seven matches.

And Semedo has posted on Twitter that he is pleased that the Hillsborough crowd have been given something to cheer recently.

Despite their recent up-turn in form, Wednesday have been a major disappointing this campaign.

The Owls went into the season as one of the favourites for promotion, but they have failed to challenge the play offs.

Wednesday are currently in 15th place in the Championship table, with just two games left to play.

Luhukay’s men are next in action on Saturday, when they take on league winners Wolverhampton Wanderers.
