Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho has told The Sun that Dele Alli will not leave the club in the summer transfer window.

Alli was left out of Tottenham’s matchday squad against Newcastle United in the Premier League at the weekend, as reported by The Sun.

The England international midfielder was omitted from Tottenham’s matchday squads against Southampton and Lokomotiv Plovdiv, but he did start against Shkendija in the Europa League qualifier last week, according to BBC Sport.

According to The Telegraph, Paris Saint-Germain want to sign Alli from Spurs this summer.

Mourinho told The Sun when asked whether Alli will still be a Tottenham player beyond the transfer window: “I believe so.”

Keeping Dele Alli

True, Tottenham have quite a few attack-minded players and Alli has not been at his best for a while now, but the England international is a very good player with a lot of potential.

Alli is only 24 years of age, and Tottenham should persevere with him and keep him for at least one more season.

According to WhoScored, Alli scored eight goals and provided four assists in the Premier League and scored one goal and provided one assist in the Champions League for Spurs last season.
