Tottenham have had something of a remarkable season so far, and while their last few results haven’t quite been what they’d hoped, they’re very much still in the midst of the title race.

The London outfit also remain in the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, but their main focus surely still has to be the Premier League.

The busy festive period is a testing time for every club in England, and this time isn’t made any easier by the FA Cup third round ties that come in early January.

Indeed, Tottenham face non-league outfit Marine AFC on January 10th in what really should be one of the easiest games of their season, and you would imagine that Mourinho will look to rotate his side for that game.

Rotation will allow his first-teamers to recover some fitness after such a hectic winter schedule, and it is also a great chance for him to unleash one of Spurs’ most talented young players.

Dane Scarlett has made plenty of headlines this season due to his incredible form for Spurs’ youth sides, as he currently sits at the top of the U18s Premier League scorers table.

The game against Marine should be something of a walk in the park for Spurs, and it may also be a chance for the 16-year-old to showcase his talents on the senior stage.

Giving him a taste of senior football would be a wise idea, and utilising him in a game where he could easily find himself on the scoresheet could do wonders for his confidence going forward.

Of course, a game against Marine isn’t a true litmus test of whether or not Scarlett is ready to feature for Spurs’ first-team as this is non-league opposition, but it will allow the manager to get a good look at him and give him the chance to get some senior minutes in what should be an interesting learning experience for the striker.
