Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to miss out on Nelson Semedo to Premier League rivals Manchester City.
Well-known Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague recently claimed on his YouTube channel that Tottenham have asked Barcelona about the 26-year-old right-back.
According to Sky Sports, Barca are ready to offer Semedo and Samuel Umtiti to Spurs in a swap deal to sign Tanguy Ndombele.
However, it now seems that Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho will not be able to secure the services of his Portuguese compatriot Semedo.
That’s because, according to Sport, the Portugal international wants to play for Pep Guardiola at City.
It has been reported by the Spanish publication that a deal between City and Barcelona over the transfer of the right-back is close and could be finalised this week for €40 million (£35.92 million).

Missing out
Tottenham could do with a new right-back, as they have not really found the right replacement for Kieran Trippier, who left for Atletico Madrid last summer.
Serge Aurier is a good right-back, but he can be erratic, while Kyle Walker-Peters – on loan at Southampton – is not yet ready to play week in and week out for the first team.
