Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has told the club’s official website that Daniel Levy did ‘amazing’ to bring Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to the club.
Spurs were in pre-season action on Saturday afternoon, taking on League One side Ipswich Town in their first warm-up game.
Tottenham were quick out of the blocks as Ryan Sessegnon and Son Heung-min struck early, before Son added his second and Tottenham’s third.
Mourinho was able to give minutes to a host of young players, suffered no injury concerns and also handed a debut to Hojbjerg.
The Dane signed from Southampton earlier this summer, and lasted more than an hour on his Tottenham debut before being substituted for Harvey White.
Spurs will hope to get Hojbjerg up to speed quickly, as he looks to be the ideal gritty performer that Tottenham needed in midfield.

After Hojbjerg’s debut, Mourinho admitted that he felt Tottenham had found the perfect time to move for Hojbjerg given that he was in the final year of his deal at Southampton.
Mourinho added that chairman Levy – who often gets stick from Spurs fans – did ‘amazing’ in landing ‘such a good player’ in Hojbjerg.
“The club found very intelligently the moment to do it,” said Mourinho. “It was the last year of contract for Pierre, his club was in a difficult situation in terms of negotiation so I think Mr Levy did amazing for us getting such a good player for us,” he added.
