According to Eurosport, Tottenham are watching Jesse Lingard after his fine displays for West Ham caught their eye.
Spurs – along with Leicester – are billed as potential competitors to West Ham in the battle for Lingard’s signature.
However, it doesn’t sound like he’ll come cheap.
If The Sun are to be trusted, Manchester United have slapped a £40 million price tag on the 27-cap England international’s head.
After six goals and three assists in just eight Premier League games for West Ham, you can understand why.
If Tottenham do win the race for Lingard, at least he’s already in José Mourinho’s good books.

The 58-year-old described the Warrington-born forward as ‘amazing‘ back in January 2018, after he scored a brilliant goal against Derby.
Interestingly, Lingard has actually performed better under Mourinho than he has for any other manager, from a goalscoring aspect.
As Transfermarkt shows, the 28-year-old scored 20 goals under Mourinho, more than he’s netted for any other boss.

Lingard also recorded 11 assists under the Portuguese coach, as they won the Europa League and the League Cup together.
It’s very, very important to get on Mourinho’s good side.
As we’ve seen with Dele Alli this season, the former Chelsea boss isn’t afraid to completely exile someone if they aren’t up to his standards.
In that respect, signing Lingard would seem like a good move from Spurs.
