Speaking to talkSPORT, Jose Mourinho has been full of praise for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, sharing one thing he’s noticed about his body language.
Grealish has been one of the most-discussed footballers in the country over the past fortnight or so, and now Mourinho has weighed in with his view on the Aston Villa man.
Mourinho is seemingly a Grealish advocate, he’s backed him to play for England, claiming that he doesn’t hide in the big moments and he’s always asking for the ball with his body language.

Mourinho has been full of praise for Grealish and his mentality, pointing out that his body language suggests that he always wants the ball.
“When a team lacks confidence, is playing with fears and caution, you have to play the one that doesn’t hide and the one that doesn’t hide is Grealish. He can make his mistakes, he can lose the ball but he doesn’t hide,” Mourinho said.
“He wants the ball. I don’t know if he vocally says ‘give me the ball’ but if he doesn’t he does it by body language. Against Scotland, in the last ten minutes he got two or three free-kicks, he got the team up, he tried, he got kicked, he created stability.
“I believe in this moment England need something like that. If Mount is out it’s easy, you play Grealish as a number ten. Give him the freedom to go to the sides, especially to the left but give him the freedom to go next to Harry too.”
England’s saviour
For far too long the England national team has played with fear and tried to play it safe, but Grealish refuses to do that.
As Mourinho says, he doesn’t hide in the big moments, he’s more than happy to grab any game by the scruff of the neck.
Grealish’s body language tells you all you need to know, he wants to be involved and he believes he’s good enough to have an impact in any game.
We can only hope that Grealish starts for England in their remaining games at Euro 2020.
