Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has told Football.London that a solution has been found for Pierre-Emile Hojberg.
Spurs were in action on Sunday, claiming a 1-0 win at West Bromwich Albion as Harry Kane bagged a late, late winner at The Hawthorns.
That result temporarily sent Tottenham to the top of the table, though they now sit second after Leicester City’s 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Spurs players now head off on international duty, though there was some concern about the situation surrounding Hojbjerg.
The global pandemic remains an issue around the world, and a new outbreak in Denmark means people in England are now being advised against travelling there.
Hojbjerg plays for Denmark and is in their squad, so many worried that the midfielder would have to travel and then isolate when he returns.
That would be a huge blow, as Hojbjerg has been exceptional in holding midfield for Spurs since arriving from Southampton, becoming one of Mourinho’s key men.

Mourinho has now outlined that Spurs have found a situation that suits everyone, which means Hojbjerg doesn’t actually have to travel to Denmark at all, though he will be tested given that he will be joining up with teammates who have been there.
“Pierre is in contact with his national team, he obviously wants to play for his national team,” said Mourinho. “Of course we want Pierre back and in condition to play and it looks like we have found a situation that protects us and the player and allows him to play one match.”
“The situation is simple. The first match is a friendly against Sweden, he doesn’t go. The second game is in the Nations League at home in Copenhagen, he is suspended because he got a yellow card against England so he is not going. The third game is Belgium-Denmark so he stays with us and works with us and goes to Belgium, he does what he wants and plays with greatest pride for his national team and then he comes back. The situation fits everyone,” he added.
