Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho has told Football.London that Gareth Bale still has to improve.

Mourinho made the comments about Bale while analysing his performance for Tottenham in their 3-3 draw with LASK away from home in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

The Wales international winger, who is on loan from Real Madrid at the moment, started the match and played for 82 minutes.

Mourinho told Football.London about Bale: “I took him out 10-15 minutes before the end to save the last couple of runs. He has lots of positive things in his game and of course you can see that there are little bits that he has to improve.”

How did Gareth Bale play against LASK?

Bale did not have the best of games, but the Wales international winger worked hard and tried his best.

The 31-year-old was at fault for a big chance for LASK on the half-hour mark, but he did score from the penalty spot in first-half injury time.

The Welshman was not as sharp as he would have wanted to, but there were some encouraging signs.

According to WhoScored, Bale made took four shots, had a pass accuracy of 70%, won three headers, took 45 touches, attempted four dribbles, made two tackles and three clearances, and put in two crosses.

So far this season, the winger has made five starts in the Europa League and has made one start and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Spurs, according to WhoScored.
