Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho spoke to reporters at a press conference ahead of his side’s trip to Swansea City in the Premier League.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has suggested that the rules are different in some areas when it comes to title rivals Manchester City.
Mourinho has recently been charged by the FA for comments suggesting there was a campaign against Chelsea, a charge he is contesting.
At a press conference, the Chelsea boss came out with the comments when he was asked about City signing Wilfried Bony from this weekend’s opponents Swansea City.
He said: “If they have the money and can spend the money and have no problems with Financial Fair Play, well done.
“They can only play with 11 though, unless the rules are different and they can play with 12. The rules are different for them in some areas, but not this one.
“If Bony plays and Dzeko is on the bench then I am happy with that. But to have Aguero, Jovetic, Bony and Dzeko is magnificent.”
When asked to clarify his comments, the Blues boss replied with: “You know what I mean.”
He also dodged a question about reports that appeared in the Daily Mirror earlier on in the week suggesting he said that referee Phil Dowd was too fat to do his job.
He added: “I go to the referee’s dressing room before and after the game. Before I went with both captains and the manager of the opposite team. What we speak there is between us and stays there.
“Other times, like men and normal people, we discuss what happened in the game. With Phil he made a big mistake and he was not happy about the mistake.”
On the injury front he said that Thibaut Courtois should be available for selection tomorrow after a problem with his finger, while Cesar Azpilicueta can return to training next week following a groin injury.
On the title race, Mouirnho refused to say his side were favourites despite opening up a two point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League last weekend.
He said: “We are not favourites. We are candidates. We will fight for the title until it is mathematically possible.”
