Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has spoken highly of Wolverhampton Wanderers duo Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves to The Manchester Evening News.

Mourinho was impressed with the performance of Wolves duo Moutinho and Neves against United at Old Trafford in the Premier League this past Saturday.

Portugal international midfielder Moutinho, 32, scored the equaliser for the Wanderers in the 53rd minute.

As for Neves, the 21-year-old Portugal international played well for Nuno’s side against United.

United manager Mourinho was impressed with the performances of his Portuguese compatriots.

Mourinho told The Manchester Evening News: “It’s a situation the players knew perfectly.

“That they press in midfield, these two Portuguese boys, they are both the kind of player that likes to bite, that likes to short distance, to press, they don’t give long time for you to have the ball, to turn, one touch, two touches, you don’t have much of that.”

Meanwhile, Wolves Managing Director Laurie Dalrymple has sent a heartfelt message to the fans for their support to the team against United on social networking site Twitter.

Wolves are 10th in the Premier League table at the moment with nine points from six matches.

The Wanderers are going strong in the top flight of English football, and fans should be confident about the team pushing for a top-half finish.

Nuno’s side will take on Leicester City at home in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, Neves has praised his Wolves teammate Moutinho, and told The Mirror: “It’s very good playing with Joao. He’s very experienced, very smart. He’s a very intelligent player, it’s very easy to play with him. “
