Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has told the club’s official website that Harry Kane could be back in just two weeks.
Kane suffered injuries to both ankles in Tottenham’s game against Liverpool recently, and there were big concerns that the striker could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
However, it seems that Kane shouldn’t be out for too much longer.
And Mourinho is now positive about Kane’s chances of returning to Tottenham’s team sooner rather than later.
“The news is pretty good news,” he said.
“On Liverpool no idea, then the next day we were thinking about three weeks. I don’t want to be super optimistic, but Harry is optimistic. Harry has some experience with ankle injuries and in Harry’s mind it’s a couple of weeks. Let’s see if he is right.”
Kane’s importance to Spurs’s side was highlighted yesterday, as they were sunk by Brighton & Hove Albion.
Tottenham just did not click into gear as an attacking threat at any stage during the match, as they fell to a majorly disappointing 1-0 defeat.
Tottenham did function better when Carlos Vinicius was brought on to the pitch at half-time, but it is clear to see that he doesn’t possess the same sort of playmaking qualities that Kane brings to the team.
Spurs have now lost back to back games, and sit in sixth place in the Premier League table.
