Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho has praised Dele Alli for his performance on Thursday evening, as quoted in Football.London.

Alli was in action for Tottenham in their Europa League Qualifying Playoff tie against Maccabi Haifa at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last night.

The England international did not start the match, but the midfielder came on as a substitute at the start of the second half.

The 24-year-old earned a penalty in injury time, and the former Milton Keynes Dons player himself converted it.

According to WhoScored, the Englishman took three shots, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 88%, took 36 touches, attempted three dribbles, and put in one cross.

Mourinho is pleased for Alli, and so is former Tottenham star Graham Roberts, while ex-Spurs man Micky Hazard was not impressed with the penalty awarded against Matt Doherty.

Mourinho told Football.London: “And good for Dele to come on, to create a proper penalty, and to score.”

Linked away

Alli has been linked with a move away from Tottenham in the summer transfer window.

According to The Guardian, French giants Paris Saint-Germain – who reached the final of the Champions League last season – are interested in signing the Tottenham midfielder on a loan deal before the summer transfer window closes next week.
