Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho has said on SoccerAM that Gareth Bale may not be at the club next season.
Mourinho has said that he is happy with Bale and has raved about the winger, but the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager has admitted that the future of the 31-year-old is in the hands of Real Madrid.
The Wales international winger returned to Spurs on loan from Spanish and European giants Madrid in the summer of 2020.
Mourinho said about Bale on SoccerAM: “We are all happy with Gareth and I believe that everyone like you that loves football even if not Tottenham is happy because he is a fantastic player.
“Everybody was missing for a couple of years because in the last couple of years it was not good for him at Real.”
The Portuguese added: “It’s not about us giving him a contract. He is a Real Madrid player. He has a contract with Real Madrid. He is in Real Madrid’s hands.”

Uncertain future
Bale is just starting to play well and score goals, although his performance against Arsenal in the North London derby was not very impressive.
The winger has a contract at Madrid, who will make the final decision on his future.
The defending Spanish giants may not be willing to send Bale out on loan again and could look to sell him, which means that Tottenham may have to pay a decent transfer fee to sign him on a permanent contract.
According to WhoScored, Bale has scored five goals and provided two assists in 12 Premier League games and has scored three goals and provided one assist in nine Europa League games for Spurs so far this season.
