West Ham United’s Jose Fonte and Luke Shaw of Manchester United worked with Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton.

Fonte and Shaw worked with Pochettino at Southampton, and interestingly none of them is at the club.
While 33-year-old central defender Fonte joined West Ham from the Saints in January 2017 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £8 million, manager Pochettino left Southampton for Premier League rivals Tottenham in the summer of 2014 and has been hugely successful at the North London outfit.
As for Shaw, the 22-year-old left-back moved to Manchester United from the Saints in the summer of 2014 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £27m.

West Ham defender Fonte has revealed that Shaw was like a son to Pochettino when the Spurs boss was at Southampton.
“He would put an arm around you and make you feel special,” Fonte told BBC Sport about Pochettino. “It’s good.
“I remember Luke Shaw was like a son to him. Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and myself all had a great relationship with him. He was tough as well when he had to be.”

Shaw has struggled to make an impact at United so far, mainly due to injuries he has had.
Back in April 2017, The Sun reported that Shaw wanted to leave the Red Devils in the summer of 2017 and join Pochettino at Tottenham.
