As far as Darwin Nunez’s shirt number at Liverpool, Jose Enrique has an idea what he’ll be wearing next season.
Well, providing the Uruguay international actually winds up signing for Liverpool, that is.
Fabrizio Romano revealed last night that the Reds were still discussing on how to structure the £85 million deal with Benfica.
But by all accounts, it’s looking increasingly probable that he’ll be part of Jurgen Klopp’s squad come next season.
And with Sadio Mane expected to join Bayern Munich – who have had at least one bid rejected by Liverpool so far – Enrique believes that Nunez will take the Senegal international’s number 10 shirt at Anfield.

Darwin Nunez shirt number at Liverpool
If Nunez does get the number 10, there’s definitely big boots to fill.
Mane isn’t the only exceptional player to have adorned that number at Liverpool.
At the beginning of the 2018-19 campaign, he took it off Philippe Coutinho after the Brazilian’s big-money transfer to Barcelona.
Before Coutinho, the likes of Luis Garcia, Michael Owen and John Barnes were all given it.
Then again, so was Andriy Voronin so it isn’t guaranteed that the bearer of that number winds up being a great player for the Merseysiders.
