José Enrique has taken to Twitter to react after Liverpool duo Andy Robertson and Fabinho were left out of the FIFA 22 Team of the Season.

What’s the story?

Well, this is a bizarre move from EA Sports, to say the least.

Players of the popular video game will be unable to use upgraded versions of Robertson and Fabinho, after they were axed from the Team of the Season in harsh fashion.

Enrique has every right to be baffled – you can see what he thought of their exclusion below.

As you might have spotted, Liverpool do still have some players named in the Team of the Season – after all, it would be astonishing if they didn’t.

Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mané have been included, but in truth, there should be more Liverpool players in there.

The Liverpool pair may be feeling upset after missing out on a place in the Team of the Season, and if that is the case, then they have every right to be.

Of course, it’s just a video game at the end of the day, although even the professionals have been known to enjoy using their Team of the Season card.

Robertson has been outstanding for the Reds this term. In 42 appearances across all competitions, the Scotland international has scored two goals while also providing an eye-catching 15 assists.

That is simply not normal for a left-back, to say the least.

In Fabinho’s case, the Brazilian has been his usual imperious self in midfield, but has also started to contribute some big goals for Jürgen Klopp.

In 44 appearances this season, the 28-year-old has scored eight goals, including a massive one against Villarreal to restore Liverpool’s lead on Tuesday in the Champions League semi-final.

If they go on to also miss out on the official Premier League Team of the Season, there should be outrage across Merseyside.
