Jose Enrique has said on Twitter that Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope has been world class so far this season.

The pundit made the comments about the £100,000-a-week goalkeeper (SalarySport) while watching him in action for Newcastle against Liverpool at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Enrique played for both the Reds and the Magpies.

Newcastle lost the match 2-0.

Pope was sent off in the first half for handling the ball outside of his penalty box.

The English goalkeeper will now miss the Carabao Cup final against Manchester United.

Big player for the Magpies

Nick Pope has been superb for Newcastle United so far this season and has been one of the best players for the Magpies.

The goalkeeper has been brilliant between the sticks and has hardly made a mistake.

The only major error that Pope has made this season was handling the ball outside the area against Liverpool.

And now he will miss the Carabao Cup final against Manchester United.

It is really harsh, but you have got to respect the rules.
