Former Everton midfielder Jose Baxter has likened Arsenal signing, and former teammate, Shkodran Mustafi, to John Stones speaking to ITV Sport.
Baxter was a teammate of the German international during their time at Goodison Park before they both departed for pastures new.
Mustafi’s career has enjoyed an upward trajectory since then, with him ending up moving to the Emirates this summer in a big money move.
Much has been made of the move, with some questioning whether he is good enough to justify the big price they have paid for him.

Baxter has no doubts, though, insisting that he will suit Arsenal great, likening him to another big money defender, John Stones.
“I honestly think he’ll suit them great there. He can really play, and once he settles in he’ll do well,” he told ITV Sport.
“Arsenal are a footballing team and they like to get it down. In a little way, he’s like John Stones. They’re defenders, but they could play in defensive midfield and play football.”

All eyes will now be on Mustafi to see if he does go on to become a star for Arsenal this season and beyond.
The pressure is certainly on, with the club’s fans expecting big things from him given the money that has been spent to bring him to the club.
If he can prove to be half as big a success that Stones has been on his day, then his price tag will end up looking like a bargain.
