Lee has not appeared for Sheffield Wednesday’s first team in nearly a full year.

Sheffield Wednesday should find out in the next few days for how long they will be without Kieran Lee.
Lee is approaching a full year without playing for Wednesday’s first team, and lasted just 15 minutes on his first start for the Owls’ Under-23s.
The Sheffield Wednesday manager, Jos Luhukay, revealed last week the 30-year-old will not return until 2019 at the earliest.
And speaking via the Sheffield Star on Thursday, Luhukay said a more accurate timeframe will soon be provided.
“In the next few days we will find out about Kieran Lee,” he said. “Maybe he will have surgery in London.
“We must wait from what the doctor sees and what he has done and then we will get a time limit for his injury so we must wait.”

Lee is one of five senior players certain to miss Sheffield Wednesday’s derby trip to Sheffield United on Friday, along with Keiren Westwood, David Jones, Sam Winnall and Gary Hooper.
The Owls could, however, be boosted by the surprise returns of Fernando Forestieri and Marco Matias, without whom Luhukay’s side have lost their last four matches.

Both players have trained ahead of the Bramall Lane encounter, and Luhukay admitted that he may include one or both players, despite previously ruling them out.
