Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with a couple of Chelsea players in recent weeks.

Jos Luhukay has told Sheffield Wednesday’s official Facebook page that he has not spoken personally to a single potential new signing at Hillsborough.

Wednesday had a four-month transfer embargo lifted earlier this month, and have until 5pm on Friday to bring in loans and free transfers.

Goal reported last week that the Owls were in talks to take Michael Hector and Lucas Piazon on loan from Chelsea, but if that is true then Luhukay, it seems, was not involved himself.

Asked if Sheffield Wednesday’s chances of adding to their squad this week were greater than 50-50, the Hillsborough boss replied: “Today it is not 50-50, it is zero-zero, there is nothing to mention.

“And I say honestly, I have not spoken with one player, not yesterday, not last week, not in the last weeks. I have, from the first day, Wigan Athletic, to now, never spoken with one player.

“It is true, it is honest and I have always said I will have 100 per cent focus on my team, on our young players, to help them, and when we need maybe a player who’ll help us and who’ll make us better you must have also one eye on maybe that position.

“At this moment I am very happy and I have a lot of trust in the whole squad and when I see the progression from some young players in the last weeks also, it gives me a good feeling.

“But in the end, you never know what will happen in the next three days, maybe we can get Ronaldo if he is not happy at Juventus. Maybe he’ll give us a call and then I’m stupid if I say it’s not possible you can come to us.”

Lucas Piazon of Fulham celebrates his side's second goal during the Sky Bet Championship match between Norwich City and Fulham at Carrow Road on March 30, 2018 in Norwich, England.

Both Hector, a central defender or defensive midfield player, and Piazon, an attacking midfielder, have struggled to force their way into Chelsea’s first team plans, and spent much of their Blues careers out on loan.

Hector was a regular for Wednesday’s Yorkshire rivals Hull last season, while Piazon helped Fulham to promotion via the Championship play-offs.
