Jos Luhukay has told Sheffield Wednesday’s official Facebook page that he is relaxed ahead of the close of the January transfer window.
Luhukay has only signed one new player since his appointment at Hillsborough three weeks ago, and has yet to move any on – with Jake Kean’s exit sanctioned before he arrived.
When asked about potential departures, however, the Dutchman suggested he has no desire to see any of his players leave this week.
“It’s the same answer as I gave before about maybe new players (coming in),” he said. “The other direction is a player coming to me and asking maybe to go to a new future, not with us. As of today, nobody has come to me and I also have not gone to one of our players, to say it’s better maybe if he leaves us.
“I have trust in my team, in my players. But you never know what the transfer window, in the next two three days, can bring. But I’m relaxed about that.”
Luhukay has yet to use 10 of the senior players he inherited from previous Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal, due to injuries.
Of the 22 he has handed minutes to, five – including three debutants – were called up from the Owls’ Under-23s, and it is unlikely, therefore, that offers for the Dutchman’s players would be entertained.
Meanwhile, Luhukay confirmed that Keiren Westwood and Barry Bannan have returned to full training, with Joost van Aken expected to join them on Wednesday.
