Sunderland were said to be eyeing deadline day moves for the Sheffield Wednesday strikers.

Jos Luhukay believes the reports of Sunderland interest in Sheffield Wednesday strikers Atdhe Nuhiu and Jordan Rhodes were more ‘speculation than serious’.
Sunderland were said to be eyeing deadline day moves for the Owls duo, as they sought to add to their threadbare options in attack.
However, the Mackems later signed Middlesbrough striker Ashley Fletcher on loan as Nuhiu and Rhodes remained at Sheffield Wednesday.
Asked if there was any truth to Sunderland’s alleged interest in his players, Wednesday boss Luhukay told the club’s official Facebook page: “There’s nothing I can say about that, it is not [to do with] me. I think it is more speculation than serious.”

The Owls failed to add to their squad in the final few days of the January transfer window, which they ended with Dutch midfielder Joey Pelupessy as their only new addition.
And asked if he had made any recommendations to his bosses about signings, Luukay suggested he had but that no deals were close to completion.
He replied: “We have, but nobody [was spoken to] personally. So, [as I have said] before, we have to trust in our team. We hope that also in the next weeks that injured players come back and then we have a good squad.
“I think it is always difficult in the winter transfer window to bring new players. So I’m relaxed, I have trust and confidence in my team.”

Sunderland, meanwhile, were able to add Cardiff City goalkeeper Lee Camp and Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria to the signings of Fletcher, Kazenga LuaLua and Jake Clarke-Salter last month.
