The Sheffield Wednesday winger has scored or made 33 goals in his three seasons at Hillsborough.
Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay has confirmed that winger Ross Wallace will miss the rest of the campaign.
Wallace picked up a knee injury in Wednesday’s defeat against Millwall last Tuesday and will undergo surgery in London later this week after seeing a specialist.
The 32-year-old has been a regular throughout his three seasons with Wednesday, but is out of contract in the summer and it is possible that he could have played his last game for the Owls.
Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield after his side’s FA Cup exit at the hands of Swansea City on Tuesday, Luhukay said: “He will miss the rest of the season. Thursday he [will have] surgery in London so Ross is not available for the rest of the games.”
Including Wallace, Sheffield Wednesday were without 12 first team players due to injury alone against Swansea, with three others cup-tied.
And the Owls suffered another blow when right-back Jack Hunt was forced off in the first half.
Luhukay does not think Hunt’s injury is anything too serious, however.
He said: “I must wait for tomorrow [Wednesday], but I think it’s not so dangerous. But we must wait of course for the next days [to see] how it is with Jack.”
Second half goals from Jordan Ayew and Nathan Dyer were enough to seal Carlos Carvalhal’s side’s progression to the quarter-finals at the expense of the club he left on Christmas Eve.
