The Sheffield Wednesday manager is confident an agreement can soon be reached.

The Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay has confirmed that talks have taken place between the club and Matt Penney regarding a new contract.
Penney only made his debut for the Owls at the start of the campaign, but has cemented his place in Luhukay’s first 11 over the past two months.
And with his existing deal due to expire next summer, Sheffield Wednesday risk losing the 20-year-old for far less than his true value if they cannot reach an agreement.
Luhukay, though, is positive that one can be reached in the coming few weeks.
“The meetings and the conversations are there so we make no pressure,” the Dutchman revealed via the Owls’ official Facebook page on Thursday. “So I’m positive that the club and Matt make in the next few weeks a decision.

“I hope that Matt sees his future here with Sheffield Wednesday. We give him in the last two months really good chances to come to us, to make positive progression and he’s not only in the team he’s a first 11 player now, so what more do you want as a young player?”
Sheffield Wednesday have yet to lose any of the eight games in which Penney has started.
A winger by trade, he could soon find his services required further up the pitch with Fernando Forestieri set to miss the next few weeks through injury.
