Jorge Masvidal has suggested that the UFC should steer clear of matching him up with Nate Diaz again.

Back in 2019, Masvidal stopped Diaz in the third round at UFC 244 to claim the first BMF title.

Although a rematch has not happened yet, many fans felt there was unfinished business due to how the fight ended.

The recent boxing rematch between Diaz and Masvidal ended with both men having one win each, adding more fuel to their rivalry.

Even though a third fight would make sense given their popularity, ‘Gamebred’ does not believe it is the right call.

Masvidal, who has shifted focus to promoting his own MMA events, has not closed the door on a potential return. He has openly said that if the call comes from the UFC for this June’s White House card, he would jump at the chance.

Talks have included a possible match-up with Conor McGregor for this event, but nothing is set in stone.

Speaking to MMA Fighting, Masvidal made it clear that all it would take is a phone call from the UFC to bring him back.

But as much as he wants in on that card, he does not think a third fight with Nate Diaz is the right move.

“Don’t do that to him,” he told MMA Fighting. “You want him to f—— get slaughtered again? I beat the brakes off that boy in California [in their boxing match]. Threw more shots, landed more shots. Threw more power shots, landed more power shots… They robbed me in that m———— fight,” ‘Gamebred’ said.

“But if Nate wanted it again, let’s do f—— Muay Thai. We already did MMA. That’s too easy. Let’s do f—— Muay Thai. Let’s have some Muay Thai fun.”

Jorge Masvidal does not rule out Darren Till rematch if timing is right

Darren Till has been vocal about his interest in a rematch with Masvidal.

Till has said he would be open to a trilogy with ‘Gamebred’ if he were able to secure revenge for the knockout loss that he suffered back in 2019.

Masvidal has not ruled out the possibility of facing the Briton again, though he noted it might not fit with the current direction of the White House card, considering Till’s focus on boxing.

“At the right time and place, I think it’d be a good one,” he told MMA Fighting.

“Why not? He keeps doing his thing, every time he fights, he gets people going wild, especially in boxing it fits him very well. He just has to go out there and make people talk about it and then we can make that happen. I’m here to make money.”
