Despite Marco Bezzecchi being considered the more complete rider, it’s Jorge Martin who is seen as having the upper hand between the two.

The title race remains extremely tight between them with just four points separating Bezzecchi and Martin, making an all-Aprilia showdown increasingly likely.

Martin’s decision to join Yamaha next year has added another twist to their developing title rivalry. For now, though, both riders are still fully focused on Aprilia.

Even with Bezzecchi’s strong performances this season, there’s no doubt he’ll be keeping a close eye on Martin as the championship battle heats up.

Speaking to Chiacchiere da Box, Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori shared his thoughts on Jorge Martin.

He believes Martin possesses a ‘frightening talent’ that has helped him navigate multiple setbacks, including injury concerns carried over from the previous year.

“Clearly, Jorge was the 2024 world champion. He has a frightening talent because even now, he’s coming off a year where he was hurt,” said Savadori.

“He’s not 100% familiar; he’s never ridden this bike in the winter. He rode a little last year. I’m not saying he doesn’t know the bike too well.”

Despite that, he quickly found himself competitive and up near the front of the grid, which just shows how much natural ability he has,” continued Savadori.

‘Complete’ Marco Bezzecchi backed by Lorenzo Savadori as a great rider

Lorenzo Savadori, speaking in the same interview, also had praise for Marco Bezzecchi. He described the Italian as a complete rider with an attitude that fits perfectly with what’s required to excel in the sport.

“Bez is truly very complete, in the sense that he’s someone who really analyses every little detail. He’s someone who never gives up, has a truly positive attitude, always pushes himself to do more and always puts himself on the line. I really like his way of doing things.”

The presence of Marc Marquez also looms over their title battle. A hard-fought rivalry between Martin and Bezzecchi could create opportunities for Marquez to close the gap.

Aprilia have so far chosen not to impose team orders, allowing both riders to race freely against each other.
