Nottingham Forest have handed a new deal to midfielder Jorge Grant. The 22-year-old, who joined the club from the Nike Academy in 2013, looked like being on his way out of the club this summer – with his contract at the City Ground coming to an end.

But a loan spell at local rivals Notts County has seemingly reignited his career with the Tricky Trees.

He scored six goals in 17 games for the Magpies and has seemingly done enough to convince new Forest boss Mark Warburton that he is worthy of a shot in the Forest first-team next season.

It has certainly left the player delighted. He sent out this tweet yesterday celebrating the new deal, leaving his Nottingham allegiance in no doubt:

Grant, who scored his one goal for Forest so far in the League Cup v Tottenham Hotspur in September 2014, will now be hoping for more of a chance in the Forest first-team, having started just six league games for the club so far.

Competition is going to be fierce for first-team football in central midfield, but Grant will be hoping to carry his loan form into the new campaign with Forest.
