Frenchman Jordan Veretout has been speaking to French publication Le Progres about his Aston Villa struggles and newfound happiness at his new club.
The midfielder was one of several new recruits at Villa Park last summer who failed to make an impact at the club.
With that in mind he was loaned out to Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne for the 2016-17 season this summer.

He has since enjoyed some good form for Les Verts, playing in 11 games so far this season. He also scored his first goal for his loan club since his move back to France at the weekend – in a 2-0 win against Caen.
Speaking about his time at Villa he made it clear he was pleased to be with Saint-Etienne – and back to winning football matches:
“Physically, the game time and stored the sequence of matches, it is much better than before.

“I also take a little more confidence. In Saint-Etienne, I take pleasure in playing football. I had lost that a little and here I found it. Losing all the matches (at Aston Villa), it was not cool.
“I feel good in this jersey. I evolve in a very good team with great qualities. I really think we can do great things. This will require successful games such as Caen. A big game awaits us against Monaco. But we know we have the quality and we can bother to trouble the top table teams.”
The French midfielder arrived at Villa in a deal said to be worth around £8 million by the Daily Mail last summer.

But he struggled to have a major impact at Villa, as the club were relegated to the Championship as the Premier League’s bottom club.
Villa are now in the Championship and getting back to some sort of good form under the guidance of new manager Steve Bruce.
Veretout may still have a future at Villa Park, but right now it seems he is very happy where he is.
