Rangers are having a good season so far, and Steven Gerrard’s side continued their positive run of form at Ibrox on Thursday evening.
The Gers got the better of NK Maribor 3-1 at Ibrox in the first leg of their Europa League qualifying third round tie.
Rangers’ performance in the first half of the match was not great, but the Scottish Premiership side stepped up their game in the second period.
Jordan Thompson was following the match, and the 21-year-old Blackpool midfielder – who was released by Rangers at the end of last season – was impressed with the performance of Gerrard’s side.
The Northern Ireland international midfielder was impressed with the displays produced by defenders Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson, right-back James Tavernier and midfielder Lassana Coulibaly.

Coulibaly joined Rangers on loan from Angers in the summer transfer window, and the 22-year-old midfielder has already proven to be a huge hit at Ibrox.
The Mali international midfielder has been a force in the middle of the park for Rangers, and his energy and commitment have been laudable.
