Jordan Spieth is working as hard as humanly possible to rediscover his best form.
Spieth is without a PGA Tour win since April 2022, and his regression ever since then has been painful to witness.
Sure, there have been some bright sparks, and he has definitely shown encouraging signs at times in 2026.
However, the fact of the matter is that Jordan Spieth still hasn’t finished inside the top-10 on the PGA Tour this season.
Spieth keeps telling everyone how close to winning he is, and maybe he isn’t far away.

However, the truth is that his best finish in 2026 is a tie for 11th.
Winning is hard and there are so many players who have improved beyond all recognition during the time that Spieth has regressed.
Jordan Spieth comments on the PGA Championship and career Grand Slam
Spieth is in the PGA Championship field this week, as he attempts to complete the career Grand Slam for the 10th time.
The 32-year-old from Dallas had won three different majors by the time he was just 23 years old.
However, the PGA Championship is the one that has eluded him to this day.
Spieth was asked at Aronimink on Monday whether the chance to complete the career Grand Slam changes the way in which he prepares for the tournament.
“It doesn’t,“ he insisted.
“If you’re talking about scheduling and stuff like that, our schedules are kind of pretty set in stone. If you’re in the elevated events, you tend to want to play them unless you have the luxury of maybe being able to miss one.
“Like for me right now, the Dallas and Fort Worth, I’m in an interesting part of the schedule. But having played two very difficult golf courses leading into this is helpful, I think.

“I don’t mind a third week in a row. I’ve played some of my best golf having been third week in a row. But I’ve got to get kind of some legs under me after the last two and everybody is kind of doing that. I think most of the field played last week. One of the few places.
“So as far as the career Grand Slam, this tournament’s always highlighted. If I can win one more tournament in my life, it would obviously be this one for that reason. But the easiest way to do that is to not try to, in a weird way, you know.
“Just go out and get ready for the first hole, get a good game plan in and attack it the way it needs to be attacked.
“My game has been getting better and better. It’s plenty good to have a chance to win. It’s about working my way into contention. I was able to do that a couple weeks ago. Being in the last couple groups this weekend the first time this season. Glad I was there and hopefully I can do that this week and do better.“
Can Jordan Spieth still win a major?
Spieth may have led certain categories each week at different times.
However, in order to win again he will need to put it all together on any given week.
Jordan Spieth needs to drive the ball solidly, hit his irons with a consistent dispersion, and obviously chip and putt well, especially if he is to win the PGA Championship this season.
We all know that he was once very capable of doing that. However, the question now should be whether he is still capable of producing major winning golf.
The stats show that he isn’t capable of putting everything together on any given week anymore.
Jordan Spieth winning the PGA Championship this week would be an incredible story but unfortunately, it is highly unlikely to happen.
