The Glasgow Rangers midfielder is currently recovering from injury but could have proved his worth if he had been fit.

Rangers fans are yet to see the best of Jordan Rossiter, who has managed only 10 appearances since arriving at Ibrox and who is currently recovering from a long-term injury.

The frustrating thing for the 20-year-old is that, had he been fit, a series of circumstances could have seen him cast in a vital role for the Gers heading into the festive fixtures, with Graham Dorrans and Ryan Jack unavailable and interim boss Graeme Murty turning to the next generation for solutions.

Jamie Barjonas did a decent job for Rangers against Hibernian earlier this week; however if Rossiter had been available he is likely to have started ahead of the 18-year-old.

He could have also been given chances earlier in the campaign but, as it is, he will be left to wonder what might have been, with his own return from injury likely to coincide with that of his more experienced teammates.

In time Rossiter should still get his chance to impress at Rangers, it is only a shame that Murty was unable to call on him and potential give the Gers faithful yet another hero to cheer, as he with the likes of Ross McCorie and David Bates.

Footballing destiny is often defined by a moment of luck fully embraced and turned into something else entirely but, when it comes to Rossiter, he has been anything but lucky.
