And Rangers fans are hoping that it means that midfielder is close to returning to fitness.
Rossiter was brought to Rangers from Liverpool in 2016, but he has made a limited impact at Ibrox so far.
The England youth international was expected to become a first-team regular, but injuries have seriously blocked his progress in Glasgow.
Rossiter barely featured for Rangers last season, and the 20-year-old has only been fit to play four times this term.
Rossiter has not featured since September due to a calf injury, but his return would boost Graeme Murty’s midfield options.
Rangers are next in competitive action after the winter break, when they take on Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup.
