Jordan Rossiter played his first 90 minutes for Glasgow Rangers in almost a year, as they beat Dunfermline at Ibrox.

Jordan Rossiter has told Rangers’ official YouTube channel that he was delighted to get back playing 90 minutes for the Gers and conceded that much of the previous 12 months had been a nightmare.

Rossiter was one of the many signings that Mark Warburton made ahead of the Light Blues’ return to the Scottish Premiership, and it is fair to say that his arrival had seemed like quite a coup given how highly rated he appeared to be during his days at Liverpool.

Unfortunately however, the midfielder’s first year at the club was plagued by injury as he failed to play a single game after the end of August.

The 6-0 Scottish League Cup win over Dunfermline on Wednesday night was the first time in almost a year that the 20-year-old has played the entire 90 minutes of a competitive game, and after the game, he expressed his delight at being back in the fold.

“Yeah, it’s unbelievable,” he told Rangers’ official YouTube channel.

“It’s been a really frustrating year. I think everybody who knows me [knows] it’s been a nightmare of a season, but I feel like I’ve come through it, I’m stronger for it, and to be back playing 90 minutes competitively, it’s a great feeling and hopefully I can push on now.”

A general view of Ibrox Stadium is seen ahead of the EURO 2016 Qualifier match between Scotland and Georgia at Ibrox Stadium on October 11, 2014 in Glasgow, Scotland.

While many Gers fans would be forgiven for considering writing the midfielder off during the months he spent on the sidelines, it must not be forgotten just how young he actually is, as he undoubtedly has more than enough time on his side to make the grade at Ibrox.

And having experienced what he classed as a nightmare year, it is surely fair to assume that he will be fully determined to do everything in his power to make sure that his form is impressive enough to ensure that he plays as often as possible as he looks to make up for lost time.
