Glasgow Rangers midfielder Jordan Rossiter has had a difficult time at Ibrox.

With Jordan Rossiter’s quality hardly in doubt, it appears that the best way for the midfielder to prove a point to Rangers while he is away on loan is to stay fit and get as many minutes under his belt as possible.

The Gers have a lot of options in the middle of the park, and a loan move in January seemed to make a lot of sense for Rossiter. He has shown a lot of promise at Ibrox, but has proved difficult to rely on due to a number of injuries.

In fact, Rossiter left the Gers having only made 10 Scottish Premiership appearances since signing in 2016. So there is arguably no better way for the 21-year-old to send a message to Steven Gerrard than to enjoy plenty of game-time while he is with Bury.

And considering that he has now accomplished something that he has not done since August 2016, it would appear that Rossiter is certainly on the right track.

By playing 82 minutes of Bury’s 1-0 win over Exeter City at the weekend, Rossiter has featured in every game he has been available for since moving to Gigg Lane.

It is the first time since the very start of the 2016/17 season that Rossiter has appeared in three successive games. It also must be mentioned that his shortest stint on the pitch has been 45 minutes, while he played the entire game when they faced Morecambe.

Unfortunately for Rossiter, even if he returns in the summer having played in every fixture, Gerrard may still be wary of putting too much faith in him.

But it is a fantastic start for a player who desperately deserves a piece of good fortune. And if there has been a turning point, then that could be brilliant news for Rangers given what he could bring to the side next season.
