Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford saves from Tottenham’s Erik Lamela
The Premier League season is now five games old and whilst it is too early in the season to be making assumptions about who will finish where or who the stars of the show will be come the end of the campaign, it is still interesting to see how the statistics are shaping up at this early stage of the season.
So which Premier League goalkeeper has been keeping his team in it the most this season?
| Position | Team | Saves | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tom Heaton | GK | Burnley | 24 | 5 | 450 |
| Eldin Jakupovic | GK | Hull | 22 | 5 | 450 |
| Jordan Pickford | GK | Sunderland | 20 | 3 | 270 |
| Lukasz Fabianski | GK | Swansea | 19 | 5 | 450 |
| Shay Given | GK | Stoke | 19 | 5 | 450 |
Burnley’s Tom Heaton has been outstanding for the newly promoted side. He tops the charts with 24 saves. Eldin Jakupovic was not expected to be Hull City’s number one this term. However, he has been brilliant and sits second with 22 saves.
Whilst those two sit top, the man in third deserves the most praise.
Jordan Pickford has made 20 saves for Sunderland since stepping in to replace the injured Vito Mannone.
