Everton signed reported Chelsea summer transfer target Jordan Pickford from Sunderland in 2017.
Pickford moved to Everton from Sunderland in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee stated on the Premier League club’s official website to be worth £25 million.
The 24-year-old is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and is playing well for the Toffees at the moment.
The former Sunderland star was linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer transfer window, with The Express reporting of the London club’s interest in the England international.
Pickford has said that being linked with Chelsea did not affect him, and has admitted that he would have stayed at Sunderland had he not moved to Everton.
The Everton goalkeeper told FourFourTwo regarding the Chelsea speculation: “You’ve just got to keep performing and put that to the back of your mind.
“You just don’t let it affect you – even if you see speculation. I just knuckle down and focus on my game, that’s how I do it.
“I knew I had a contract with Everton and I didn’t at any time think anything other. If I didn’t come to Everton I think I would have been with Sunderland – that’s my hometown club and if this wasn’t here I probably would have been there still.”

Pickford played well for England at the 2018 World Cup in Russia in the summer, and there is no doubt that the Englishman is going to be a top player in the coming weeks.
Everton are a better team with the 24-year-old in, and it is great that the Merseyside outfit have just signed him on a new contract.
