The Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, has agreed a deal to bring the winger to Ibrox this summer.
Jordan Jones has revealed he’s been given “a few words” by Rangers players past and present ahead of his summer move to Ibrox.
The Kilmarnock winger signed a pre-contract deal with Rangers at the start of the year.
And he gained an immediate insight into what life as a Gers player is like, after a tweet in which he described joining Steven Gerrard’s side as a “dream come true” caused a backlash among fans of his current club.
Jones later apologised over the incident. But despite now claiming to know how he must behave as an Ibrox employee, it has not stopped three of his teammates – Rangers’ Northern Ireland internationals, Steven Davis and Kyle Lafferty, and Kilmarnock’s former Gers striker, Kris Boyd – from trying to make sure.
“I’ve realised myself,” Jones said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun. “But they’ve let me know – especially Davo and Laffs.
“Boyd used to play for them and we’ve had a few words about how I need to conduct myself and how careful I have to be about anything I’m doing.”
Jones may not be the only winger arriving at Rangers this summer, with reports this month suggesting a pre-contract deal has also been agreed with Motherwell’s Jake Hastie (Scottish Sun).
