Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers reportedly wanted to bring Jordan Jones from Kilmarnock to Ibrox in the January transfer window.
Rangers failed to bounce back from the Old Firm derby defeat to Celtic, as Graeme Murty’s side suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of Kilmarnock at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
Graeme Murty’s side headed into the match against Kilmarnock at home this afternoon on the back of a 3-2 defeat to Celtic at Ibrox in the league.
The Gers were expected to win, but the home team failed to pick up even a point from the encounter.
Kris Boyd scored the only goal of the match in the 54th minute against his former club to lead the home team to all three points this afternoon.
Jordan Jones featured against Rangers for Kilmarnock, and the 23-year-old midfielder has taken to social networking site Twitter to revel in the win for the team.
The Northern Ireland international midfielder has also hit back at Ayr United manager Ian McCall for his previous comments about him.
Back in January 2017, former Rangers midfielder McCall told BBC Sport that Jones is not worth £350,000.
It was reported by The Scottish Sun at the time that Rangers wanted to sign the midfielder in the January transfer window and had offered £350,000 for him, with Kilmarnock claimed to be looking for £1m as transfer fee.
