Jordan Jones arrived at Rangers this summer after the expiration of his contract at Kilmarnock.

Jordan Jones got his first taste of action in a Gers shirt last week against St. Joseph’s in UEFA Europa League qualifying and followed that up with a start against Ligue 1 side Marseille in a friendly at Ibrox on Sunday.
With Jamie Murphy returning from injury and others such as Joe Aribo and Sheyi Ojo joining the squad, competition is fiercer than ever in the attacking midfield areas at the club and Jones knows he has to keep playing well.
The 24-year-old is now hoping that he’s done enough to keep his place in the squad for Thursday’s second leg and revealed his delight linking up with quality strikers such as Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos.
As quoted by The Scottish Sun, he said: “The squad is massive, there is a lot of competition for places and there is a lot of hunger. If you get the shirt you need to keep hold of it.
“You’d have to ask the gaffer if I’ve done enough to play on Thursday in the Europa League. I just try to do what I can on the pitch and I was pleased. I thought I worked really hard and showed bits of quality.
“It was good playing with Alfredo on Sunday — they are two different players. Jermain stays more between the sticks and Alfredo sort of goes where he wants, but it was a good afternoon and I enjoyed it.”

Jones will likely have to build up a solid understanding with both ahead of the new season.
Steven Gerrard has shown in recent months he can switch between the English veteran and the Colombian prospect from week to week.
You would think that Jones, a winger who tries to find players in the box, could relish the poaching nature of Defoe but Morelos did show last season that he enjoys linking up with players on the flank, finding success combining with James Tavernier and Daniel Candeias from the right flank.
With the former Kilmarnock man providing a fresh threat from the left, can he be the latest to help the 23-year-old bang in the goals?
Direct goal contributions weren’t Jones’ big thing at Rugby Park, managing just four assists last term, but surrounded by better and more mobile players, the hope at Ibrox will be he flourishes in his new environment.
