Jordan Jones incurred the wrath of Kilmarnock fans when he signed a pre-contract agreement with Rangers.
Jones is now weeks away from becoming a Rangers player.
He decision has just been vindicated by Killie manager Steve Clarke walking out on the club to take the Scotland job.
Clarke was announced as new Scotland boss yesterday on a three-year deal, BBC Sport reported.
He left Kilmarnock because there was a better opportunity available. Jones will feel he did exactly the same.
Switching to a rival will incur more wrath than Clarke’s exit, but the end result is the same – both have left Rugby Park.
Jones could easily have been swayed into rejecting Rangers, believing in Clarke’s vision for the future at Kilmarnock.
He will be glad he didn’t stick around under any forced pretences of loyalty, and Clarke’s exit vindicates his own decision to move on to take a new challenge at Ibrox.
