Steven Gerrard handed a debut to Jordan Houston.

Steven Gerrard, Manager of Rangers looks on prior to the Ladbrokes Premiership match between Livingston and Rangers at Tony Macaroni Arena on January 27, 2019 in Livingston, United Kingdom.

Rangers handed a debut to young talent Jordan Houston last night.

Houston made his first competitive appearance for the Gers, coming on as a late substitute in the Scottish Cup tie against Cowdenbeath.

Rangers won the game 3-1, with Houston coming on for the final minutes, replacing Daniel Candeias.

Houston sent a message to fans on Twitter after the game, expressing his excitement at realising his dream.

Houston featured for Rangers recently in the friendly match against HJK Helsinki, playing for 45 minutes of the 3-2 win.

The young full-back has been terrific for Rangers’ under-20s over the course of the season and is pushing for the first team.

Steven Gerrard is keen to give Houston opportunities and more substantial playing time is likely to come his way before the end of the season.
