Speaking on the England YouTube channel, Jordan Henderson has claimed that the basketball hoops at Liverpool’s new training ground aren’t as good as the ones at Melwood were.
Liverpool moved to the AXA Training Centre earlier this season, and while it is a state of the art facility, Henderson says that there’s one aspect of the facility that isn’t as good as Melwood.
What’s been said?
We’ve seen in recent weeks that the England players have been enjoying their basketball while away on international duty, but Henderson says he hasn’t been playing much this season due to the move away from Melwood.
“Before we moved to the new training ground, when we were at Melwood, a lot of us would, me, Virgil and Joe, we used to play quite a lot there, but we don’t at the new one because it’s not as good, the backboard and stuff is a bit different, so yeah, we played a bit then, but recently we haven’t played as much,” Henderson said.

No NBA Career
It seems as though Liverpool’s move from Melwood may have put the brakes on any dream Henderson had of playing in the NBA.
In all seriousness, this may seem like a minor thing, but it’s probably something Liverpool should look into fixing.
One of the most important aspects of having a successful team is creating a good atmosphere within the squad, and the odd game of basketball would certainly help players bond, especially if they’re new signings.
It’s minor, but after spending millions on the new training centre, Liverpool should make sure everything is absolutely perfect.
